While we’re trying to build our business and live our dreams there is another life that we need to live and that is the present. Here is my perspective on how you need to focus on your business, build your dream but not lose site of the present.

Hey Michael,
Great Message!
Its important to plan for the future, but its just as important to live in the present.
Too many people are ‘so busy’ chasing the american dream that their lives are just passing them by.
Regards,
Sharon
You got that right Sharon! Thanks for commenting!
Hey Mike
This is so on target! When I first started building my business, I heard very similar things from sponsors…”show the plan X# times per day, give X# of samples away each day, etc.” (old school marketing). Building the business is important, but responsibilities and family always come first. You hit the nail on the head here.
One thing I did to help keep things balanced was designate specific days for family and me. For example, just like we have “Tribe Tuesday” in the community, I have “Family Friday”. No matter how busy we are working and building our business, family is most important.
Great Post!

Great strategy Krista!
HI Mike,
I am so fortunate that I never was asked to put my business first. The priorities were always spelled out. Spiritual, Family, work if you had a job, then the business.
You are so right on about needing to be balanced between your business and your other life.
I really appreciate this kind of blog.
Thank you,
Sandy
Great priorities Sandy!
I really like this video Michael. When starting a business
it’s so easy to think that you need to keep your ‘eye on the prize’ if you want to reach your goals. But if we spend all our time and energy on our business, we do lose ourselves and our family. Ultimately, our business will suffer too. It can be difficult finding a balance, but it’s crucial to success to find out what works for you.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Danielle
I know a guy that ditched his brother’s wedding because he thought going to his company’s quarterly meeting would be more important. Sad! I’m glad I know my priorities!
Thanks for the timely reminder, Michael. I tend to get too focused on work since I’m working from home. Balance is key to success and happiness.
You’re welcome! I’m glad you liked the video.
Great point Mike.
I’ve been down that path too…I spent an entire year calling so called “real time leads”…What a waste of time.
As you are building your dream, the fam is right there with you. Great stuff Mikey!
The fam is not the only people that are with me building my dream….the Empowered Tribe is too! Thanks man for being a great friend and business partner!
Hey Mike!
Great video! I can completely relate to this topic. I tried the old style MLM business where they expect you to sacrifice all other areas of your life for a few years to become profitable in your business. I only lasted about 6 months with that lifestyle before I was completely burnt out.
That is why I am so excited about what Internet Marketing and Social Media can do for home business owners. It is a very exciting time!
Maintaining balance especially between your business and your family it crucial. I heard someone say (I really wish I could remember who it was) that if you have children, it is important to take time throughout your day to play with them. It makes them happy, but it also raises your vibration which will help you to attract more success in your life.
If you are all work, you will begin to feel frustrated and burnt out which will lower your vibration and make it more difficult to achieve the success you desire.
Thanks for the great advice. I’m headed to give my husband and son a great big kiss!
Yes, being a parent and a spouse should come first! I agree!
I like the direction you’re giving in this post, Mike. It’s so easy to get stuck in the past, or obsess on the future BUT we ACTUALLY live ONLY in the present moment.
Staying in the moment is critical to future success because it’s here that we build the foundation for the future. If we’re not staying in process of the moment, the future will never be what we hoped for.
Be grateful for this moment… it IS a gift. I think that’s why it’s called the “present”.
David,
You are correct! It’s so important not to neglect your family while you’re building your business. After all that’s why we’re doing this right?
Hey Michael
I really get what you are talking about where you work all the time doing old school marketing and I totally missed everything else in life. And marketing online, I know I too can get stuck in front of the computer and miss some things.
So the fact that you made this video is truly important and great.
Talks man.

Hi Mike,
You are making a great point – most of us ignore our lives completely to chase dreams. It even becomes a habit and we completely forget about the here and the now. The time passes as sand between our fingers. And the more we d o it – less results we get because this is our life here and now to live. Awesome reminder! Let’s all live in the here and now NOW!
